PROBABLE NOVA In M31

K. Hornoch, H. Kucakova (Astronomical Institute, Ondrejov, Czech
Republic) report on ATEL #15291 the discovery of a probable nova in M31 on a
co-added 600-s R-band CCD frame taken on 2022 Mar. 21.771 UT with the 0.65-m
telescope at Ondrejov.

The object designated PNV J00423148+4111511 is located at:

RA 0h42m31s.48, DEC +41o11'51".1, 144.9" W and 257.4"S

of the centre of M31 (see link to discovery image below).

The following R-band magnitudes were obtained using the 0.65-m telescope at
Ondrejov:

2022 Mar. 20.780 UT, [19.3; 21.771, 16.5 ± 0.06.

As with all extragalactic novae, follow-up spectroscopic and photometric
observations to confirm the nova's nature and determine its spectroscopic
class and rate of decline (speed class) are encouraged.
