TWO PROBABLE NOVAE In M31

K. Hornoch, H. Kucakova (Astronomical Institute, Ondrejov, Czech
Republic)report on ATEL #15325 the discovery of two probable novae in M31 on
a co-added 720-s R-band CCD frame taken on 2022 Apr. 12.128 UT with the
0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov.

Designations, positions, and offsets of the new objects from the M31 centre
are summarized in the following table:

TOCP CBAT designation RA (J2000) Dec. (J2000)
PNV J00424066+4116350 M31N 2022-04a? 00 42 40.66 +41 16 35.0 Offsets
41.3" W 26.5" N
PNV J00431052+4119198 M31N 2022-04b? 00 43 10.52 +41 19 19.8 Offsets
295.2" E 191.3" N

The following R-band magnitudes were obtained for the PNV J00424066+4116350
using the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov:

2022 Mar. 28.781 UT, [18.3; Apr. 12.128, 16.9 ± 0.15.

The following R-band magnitudes were obtained for the PNV J00431052+4119198:

2022 Mar. 28.781 UT, [18.8; Apr. 12.128, 17.6 ± 0.15.

As with all extragalactic novae, follow-up spectroscopic and photometric
observations to confirm the nova's nature and determine its spectroscopic
class and rate of decline (speed class) are encouraged.
