Supernova 1987I in IC 4963.

D.Allen, Anglo-Australian Observatory, reports his discovery of a
supernova 1.6"N, 1.5"E of the nucleus of IC 4963 which is located
at RA 20h08m11s DEC -55 23.7(1950). A spectrum obtained at
Mt.Stromlo on July 2 indicates the object is of type I. The SN is
currently about mpg 16-17. (IAUC 4417)

VY Aquarii

E.Leibowitz et al, Wise Observatory, report:"The star was observed
spectroscopically with the CCD camera on July 2.9 and 6.9UT. On
July 2 the spectrum consisted of broad Balmer lines superimposed on
a continuum bluer than that of the A7 star xi Aqr. The H-alpha
emission had a full width of 1700 km/s. H-beta had an absorption
profile of full width 3500 km/s, and a central reversal emission
had a full width of 1600 km/s. The other Balmer lines were in
absorption with full width 2500 km/s. No clear signal was detected
on July 6, which implies the object was (15." (IAUC 4418)
