THE ASTRONOMER Electronic Circular No 14 1987 Mar 29 16.24UT. TAV 0723-03 Further to the announcements on E11 and E13, several observers have reported that this object has remained constant at around mag 9.2. The earliest photos which show the object are by R.McNaught on Feb 18, thus the star has been virtually constant for many weeks and this appears to cast doubt on the proposal that it is a hitherto uncatalogued mira. Further daily results are needed. Supernova 1987A Cablegrams have been received from M.Collins, observing for the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol, and temporarily in Wodonga, Australia. He reports the following recent magnitude estimates for Supernova 1987A: Mar 21.68UT, 4.2; 22.41, 4.2; 23.45, 4.2; 24.39, 4.2; 25.42, 4.2, 26.39, 4.2. (7x50B). On Mar 24 he described it as yellow. Outburst of CH UMa Steven Lubbock reports the major outburst of this star as follows: Mar 20.857, (14.0; 21.873, 13.0; 25.852, 11.6. The variable, which is located at: RA 10h03m.15 DEC +67 47'(1950) was mentioned on E-circular 7 as flickering at around mag 13 on Feb 20, evidently a prelude to the current major outburst. Further daily estimates would be welcomed. ect has remained constant at around mag 9.2. The earliest photos which show the obj
