Supernova 1987A Recent reports show that the supernova is brightening after a long period of constant brightness: 1987 April 1.46UT, 4.1 (M.Collins, Wodonga, Australia, 7x50B); 1.78, 4.1 (Collins); 2.59, 4.1(Collins); 2.77, 3.9 (Collins who described it as very yellow); 6.63, 3.5 (R.McNaught, Siding Spring Observatory, Australia, naked eye). Colin Henshaw, Zimbabwe, also reports that he independently discovered the object on Feb 24 and soon after made a magnitude estimate at 24.79, 4.6. The object brightened on this date according his further estimates:24.83, 4.4; 24.88, 4.2(12x40B). SU Tauri M.Verdenet, Bourbon Lancy, France advises us that this variable is now brightening after a deep minimum: Mar 20.84UT, 13.9; 26.82, 13.6; 28.81, 13.5. Object near Moon=Q1987/9 G.Falworth has suggested that the object seen by H.Hill(cf E-circ No 12) may have been a flock of geese. A full report will appear in this month's issue of TA. Guy M Hurst
