NOVA VULPECULAE 1987
S.Lubbock, Bridgend, reports that this nova was not seen and
fainter than 14.0 on 1988 Jan 21.270UT as observed with a 0.44-m
reflector. The latest positive estimate received is by P.Schmeer on
Jan 12.730UT at 9.8.
Confirmation of the fade is URGENTLY REQUIRED. Please report all
negative results.
If confirmed, it suggests that this nova belongs to the rare DQ Her
type which usually recover after a very rapid and deep minimum.
Daily estimates are needed especially now that the star is being
neglected because of its position low in the evening. It can be
seen in the morning sky.
Deep photos are also urgently needed.
