The exposure, obtained with 0.25-m refl. on Kodak 2415, shows the supernova at mag 14.1. However further visual estimates by Rob McNaught in Siding Spring give: Jan 29.75UT, 14.7; 30.75, 14.7. The reason for the brighter result from photography is unclear but rather unusual when compared with earlier SN results on K2415. Further photography of this supernova is therefore urgently needed. SUPERNOVA 1988B IN NGC 3191 We still do not have a reliable sequence for the field of this supernova. An equivalent exposure on the same night of the SN and field of NGC 3583 (RA 11h11.3m DEC +48 36',1950), for which we have a photoelectric sequence would be of great assistance. Guy M Hurst
