On Feb 20 the object was of mag 16 and the offsets are: RA 27" west; DEC 24" south. The galaxy is of type SO, mag 14.4 and dia 72". V344 ORIONIS S.Lubbock, Bridgend, reports a rare outburst of the UGZ star V344 Orionis which is located at: RA 06h12m28s DEC +15 29'(1950). On Feb 23 at 19.50UT he estimated mag 13.8v. The GCVS gives a range 14.2-17.5:p and a possible period of 20d although Stephen mentions that in 18 months intermittent coverage he has not detected any other maxima.
