OCCULTATION OF AGK3 +06 1290 BY 10 HYGIEA ON March 8.0253UT
Rob McNaught e-mails:
"This occultation has been predicted by the Lowell group. Details
as follows:
Star m 10.7 RA 10h11m14.192 Dec +06d19'15".30 (1950)
Ast m 10.5 diam 443 km
Max duration 36 secs. Istar/(Istar+Iast)=0.45 (approx 0.6mag
drop?)
Although not an easy occultation, the nominal path crosses the whole of
Ireland, Wales, Southern England, Belgium, France and Greece.
Should any UK astrometrist be interested the following ephemeris is
provided:

March 5.0UT RA 10h13m29.86 Dec +06d07'30.2 (1950)
March 7.0 10 11 59.34 +06 15 20.6
Astrometry should be done on both the asteroid and the star to be
occulted. The star to be occulted should NOT be used in the
reduction. E-mail astrometry to me and I shall reply e-mail with
the update, in addition to passing the measures on to Bob Millis,
the chairman of IAU Commission 20 Working Group on Occultations."
