SUPERNOVA 1988G IN ANON GALAXY
Jean Mueller and Jeff Phinney, Palomar Observatory, report the
discovery of a supernova of mpg 17-18, in an anon. galaxy
(RA 13h25.7m DEC +32 10'31",1950) located 6.7" E and 3.3" S of the
galaxy's centre. The measured position of the SN is:
RA 13h28m25.1s DEC +32 10'26"(1950).
The discovery, made on a Feb 25 plate was during the course of
Palomar Sky Survey II. A spectrograph indicates it is of type I.

SUPERNOVA 1988H IN NGC 5878
S.Perlmutter and C.Pennypacker, Berkeley Automated Supernova
Search, report the discovery of a supernova in NGC 5878
(RA 15h11.0m DEC -14 05',1950)
located 22" W and 55" N of the galaxy's centre. On Mar 3.499UT, it
was of mag 15.5. A prediscovery image on Feb 12 revealed mag 16.
