Telephone:(0256)471074.Int:+44256471074 Telex:265871(MONREF G) Quote"72:MAG60138 ATT G.HURST"in FIRST line. ------------------------------------------------------------------- FADE OF V482 CYGNI G.M.Hurst, Basingstoke and G.Poyner, Birmingham independently report a sudden fade of the R-CrB type variable V482 Cygni (RA 19h57.8m DEC +33 50',1950) as follows: June 14.94, 11.3 (Poyner); 15.94, 11.7 (Hurst); 18.99, 11.5 (Poyner); 22.95, 12.6 (Hurst); 23.00, 12.9 (Poyner). A fade was announced on IAUC 4511 when the variable faded from 10.9 (1987 Oct 29) to 12.5 (1987 Dec 13) but recent results for May show a mean magnitude of 11.54 (17 obs) suggesting the star had recovered to near maximum (The Astronomer Vol 25 No 290, in press).
