IAUC 4697 COMET YANAKA (1988r) Jost Jahn (Germany) e-mails that M.Jaeger, Austria has observed this comet: 1989 Jan 1.2UT RA 16h23.8m DEC -00 43'(1950) Mag 9. Brian Marsden advises us that no precise positions have been received (at 16.00UT today) and astrometry is urgently required. SU TAURI In response to the note on E-233, P.Schmeer (Germany) reports that the variable has been observed at 9.7 on 1988 Dec 29.817UT and 1989 Jan 2.910UT. This contrasts with M.Gainsford's observations which suggested a fade. On Jan 1 at 18.55UT he recorded [12.2 and not seen but through broken clouds. Guy M Hurst
