Martin Lunn, Tadcaster, has reported to P.Birtwhistle that a star,
plotted as a magnitude 7 object of spectral class F on Atlas
Borealis, was not seen to magnitude 9.0 on 1989 Jan 17 at 23.55UT.
The position quoted is:
RA 7h15m DEC +41 45'(1950).
The Editor measures the image on Borealis as at:
RA 07h14.7m DEC +41 38'(1950).
There is a candidate in the CSI as follows:
BD +41 1629 mpg 10.4; mv (9.9) SpF5 RA 07h14m39s DEC +41 37.6(1950)
It is plotted as a mag 9 object on Uranometria 2000 (map 68) but is
omitted from the SAO and AAVSO Atlases. It is not in the following:
GCVS4, NSV, 67-68th Name Lists.
On Papadopoulos (1976 Nov 2) it is present at approx mag 9.5pv.
It is probable that this is merely a misplot on Borealis but
further estimates from patrol films would be useful.

NSV 01098
Denis Buczynski, Conder Brow Observatory, e-mails a precise
position for this object (cf E241-242):
1989 Jan 13.07361 RA 03h15m57.21s DEC +70 35'48.7"(1950)
8 star reduction AGK3.
He also reports that there is an image on the Franklin Adams
photographic chart of 1908 Dec 18 near magnitude 15.
Jost Jahn e-mails that the star is not recorded on 15 photos
1983 Aug 10-1987 Sept 28 with limiting magnitudes between 9.0-12.5.
We are also indebted to Jost Jahn and Frank Weissferdt for
providing a translation of the original notes in AN.
Dave McAdam reports that he photographed the star on 1989 Jan 17.8
UT at an estimated magnitude of 9.0pv whereas he also finds it at
magnitude 11.2pv on a patrol photo of 1983 Aug 30.9UT.
