SUPERNOVA 1989A IN NGC 3687
Mark Kidger, Tenerife, relays word from Phil Charles in La Palma
that the spectrum of this object (cf E249) indicates it is type Ia
within a week of maximum light.

SUPERNOVA 1988aa
G.Comte, Observatoire de Marseille, reports that during a survey of
ultraviolet-excess galaxies with the Pic-du-Midi 2-m telescope, he
discovered a supernova on frames of 1988 Dec 14-15 at:
RA 00h10m06.2s DEC -00 18'35"(1950).
The SN was extremely red with B=19.65; R(Cousins)=17.40; I(Cousins)
=16.40. It is 2"W, 18"N of Galaxy 0010-003 but it is not clear
whether the SN and this galaxy are connected. IAUC 4724
