PERIODIC COMET CLARK (1989h)
J. Gibson, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, reports his recovery of
this comet with the Palomar 1.5-m reflector (+ CCD). A 300-s
integration on Jan. 2 revealed a 5" x 8" elliptical coma with
eccentric condensation, the maximum extent of the coma being toward
p.a. 290 deg from the condensation.The Jan. 17 and 18 images show a
5" coma with central condensation and a 10" tail in p.a. about 290
deg. The following observations are in agreement with the orbital
elements on MPC 12128 (ephemeris on MPC 14035).
