COMET SHOEMAKER-HOLT (1989j)
The following preliminary parabolic orbital elements are from the
16 observations, but it seems likely that this is a short-period
comet.

AURORAL STORM
Numerous observers across Europe have reported a spectacular
auroral display last night as had earlier been suggested on E272.
It is impractical to publish notes here but please send your
reports as soon as possible to Dave Gavine, TA Aurora Editor.

TAV 0157+58 (=Q1989/17)
Further analysis by the Editor of the negatives submitted by Mike
Collins confirms the variability of this object which therefore
receives the designation TAV 0157+58.
