He finds a minimum separation of 1.18" on 1989 July 3.94555. It is possible that an occultation could be observed from Europe and further information is awaited. IAUC 4761 Q1989/22 Observations by Mike Collins, Martin Mobberley, Nick James and George Alcock on the night of Mar 30/31 revealed no new object at either of the positions given (cf E281). NSV01098 Hans Bengtsson, Sweden, reports that this object is fading according to observations by M.Westlund (We) and K.G.Andersson (An) Mar 6.03UT, 9.3 (We); 12.89, 9.7 (We); 15.86, 9.9 (we); 17.78, 10.0 (We); 18.05, 10.0 (An); 18.81, 10.1 (An); 19.82, 10.2 (We); 26.80, 10.4 (We). Westlund comments that star G (10.7) seems a little brighter than F (10.5). Any comments please? If anyone would like to submit values for an extended sequence this would also be welcomed. SN 1989F Mike Collins (MAG36908) suggests that the parent galaxy for this object (cf E278) may be Reiz 3074. The position in Dixons is given as RA 12h55m51s DEC +03 03'(1950) The diameter of the galaxy is quoted as 48" and the magnitude as 14.9pg. Guy M Hurst
