Eleanor Helin reports her discovery with Brian Roman of a new
comet:

SN 1989O MCG 6-1-26
J.Mueller and D.Mendenhall report discovery of a supernova during
POSSII 15.6"E, 9"N of MCG 6-1-26 located:
RA 00h18.4m DEC +34 13'(1950).
On Sept 3 the object was of mag 18.                     IAUC 4846

1989QF
This asteroid was found by C.E. and E.M.Shoemaker on Aug 31 at
V=17. It is an Apollo object currently fading to mag 16. Further

SN 1989P IN NGC 6636
Mueller also reports another SN during POSSII. The object, of
mag 16.5 is 9"W and 47"S of NGC 6636 (RA18h22.0m DEC+66 36',1950)
and was found on Sept 3.                                IAUC 4847
