JANET GATEWAY
All tests so far conducted have been successful (cf E355). However
concern has been expressed that the JANET addresses are complex to
enter.
To overcome this, it is suggested you set these up on the
NICKNAME system using the following steps which are based on an
example involving my STARLINK box and a code RGVAD:
At Messaging Command type nicknames
At next menu type ADD
At next menu type X4
Enter nickname: RGVAD
At Country Name: GB
Public System: gold 400
(note space between gold and 400 important)
Private System: uk.ac
Menu: nam
Last Name: gmh
Generational Qualifier: n
First name: [ret]
Middle initial: n
Organization Name: ro-greenwich
Organization Unit(s):
: starlink
: [ret]
DDAs
[ret]
RGVAD was added to your Nickname Directory.

If you list your nicknames, you will find differences compared to
our directory entries such as:
ADMD is same as PUB
PRMD is same as PVT
The order of OU and SN may differ.
None of these appear to create a problem but please advise me
if any message fails.

To send a message simply type 'c' at command and then the
nickname at 'to:' eg:
Command: c
To: RGVAD
