P/COMET SANGUIN (1989z)
B.Weller, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory; R.Coker,
California Institute of Technology; and K.Meech, Institute for
Astronomy, report their recovery of this comet from observations
with the CTIO Schmidt using a prototype CCD. The observations on
May 9-11 show m2=22 and the indicated Delta (T) correction -0.37d.

the 0.46-m Palomar Schmidt of a fast-moving asteroid on Nov 2 at

Rob McNaught reports the discovery by Q.A.Parker of a fast-moving
object on a plate by M.Hartley with the 1.2-m UK Schmidt on Nov 1
when the asteroid was of mag 16. Elements by Marsden:

SN 1988ac IN NGC 3995
M.Richmond reports his discovery, using the Lick Observatory Nickel
1-m telescope of a SN in NGC 3995 (RA 11h55m10s DEC +32 34.3,1950).
The object is located 17.3"W and 34.1"S of the nucleus and
superimposed on an H II region. Mags: 1988 Dec 15, [19; 30, 16.5;
1989 Jan 15, 16.8; 29, 17.3; Mar 15, 18.0?; Apr 29, 18.3?

photographs shows the star absent from an exposure on 1972 Oct 28
but at mag approx 10 on 1983 Mar 4; 1983 Apr 12; 1983 Oct 13;
1983 Dec 6; 1984 Jan 8. The film type is not given.
