EDITORIAL
Due to the recent severe storms, all four JANET computers normally
available for use by the editor are out of action. Delay in
receipt of this circular to JANET subscribers is therefore
regretted. There also appears to have been different transmission
problems with E381. If anyone has not received this, or multiple
copies please e-mail so we can investigate.

TAV 2251+61 (=Q1990/4)
Mike Collins, Sandy, reports his discovery of an uncatalogued
variable star at: RA 22h51.2m DEC +61 00'(1950). The object was
of magnitude 11.0 (K2415 film) on UK Nova Patrol Photos of
1990 Jan 17.8UT, whereas on 1989 June 28 it was 9.5. The Editor
notes it is faint on Atlas Stellarum (1969 July 19) near
magnitude 13.5 but it is not resolved on the Lick Atlas, being
very close to star 6 (magnitude 10.7) which lies to the NE. A
chart is available on e-mail request.

TT CRT
Rob McNaught e-mails that Andrew Pearce has observed TT Crt in
outburst on Jan 24.5UT at magnitude 12.7. This was formerly
designated FSV 1132-11, and is a dwarf nova found by Richard
Fleet. A chart with further details appeared in TA Vol 24 No285.

RX AND
Patrick Schmeer, Germany, reports that this star is at standstill
being near 11.5 Jan 21-26. The previous standstill recorded was
in 1986 Nov-Dec. The star is on the programme of the BAAVSS from
whom a chart can be obtained.
