POSSIBLE NOVA IN SAGITTARIUS
W. Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports his discovery with
Problicom of an apparent nova at R.A. = 17h56m07s, Decl. =
-29 09'.7 (1950). V2449 Sgr is 105" due east of this object.
Magnitude estimates from 2415 film: Feb. 20.36 UT, [11 (orange
filter); 23.38, 8.0 (orange filter); 24.33, 8.9; Mar. 2.39, 9.8.

SUSPECTED VARIABLE NEAR FN CYGNI (=Q1990/23)
Andrea Boattini, Firenze, Italy, reports possible variation in
comparison 124 on the AAVSO (d) chart for FM/FN Cygni (7/83). The
Editor estimates the position as: RA 19h28.7m DEC +29 59'(1950).
The possible range is 12.5-13.1 and there is no entry in the
GCVS, NSV or Name Lists. Observers are invited to help investigate
this further and a chart is available on e-mail request.

TASV 0739+15 (=Q1990/15)
Mike Collins reports his discovery of a suspected variable on
UK Nova Patrol Photos of 1990 Feb 22.9UT when the magnitude was
10.3. The position is: RA 07h39.2m DEC +15 28'(1950). On 1989
Mar 8 the star was estimated at 11.0. An e-mail chart is available
from Mike Collins (MAG36908) and a paper version from the Editor.

SAOC 097213 (=Q1990/24)
The Editor notes that a star catalogued as SAOC 097213 of mag 9.1
and at RA 07h42m29s DEC +10 30'33"(1950) is plotted at that
brightness on the AAVSO Atlas and SAO Atlas. However on photos
by Mike Collins for 1990 Feb 22 it appears near magnitude 10.6.
There is no evidence to date for variation and it may be merely
a misplot.
