V795 CYGNI (Q1990/38)
Patrick Schmeer, West Germany, reports an outburst of V795 Cygni,
a UG star on the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol's recurrent object list.
The star is located: RA 19h32.6m DEC +31 26'(1950). Estimates by
Schmeer: Apr 18.049UT, [13.2; 19.127, 13.0. The GCVS catalogue
mentions the star is the sf component of a close pair and gives
a range of 13.4-[17.9p. According to some notes supplied by
Patrick Schmeer the star was recorded near maximum at 12.8 on
1988 May 2 by another group. The present TA chart is based on a
mpg sequence only and new photos during this outburst are urgently
needed. For the purposes of sequence transfer, an exposure of
similar duration on TY Cygni (RA 19h31m50s DEC +28 13.1',1950)
would assist.

NO NOVA IN SCORPIUS
W.Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, reports that photographs taken on
Apr 18.3UT failed to show the object reported on IAUC 4995/E403.

TA INDEX
Please note that Daniel Fischer's mailbox details have changed
and those on JANET should now use the following in MAIL:
CBS%UKC::"p515dfi%uucp.mpirbn"
Following cessation of the RGVAD service, MICROLINKERS in our
group may send messages to those abroad by directing them to
the Editor's Sussex mailbox where they would normally be
re-routed within 24 hours if the gateways are operative.
There continues to be a problem in sending mail to those on
TELECOM GOLD although we understand that tests are underway
to create a gateway between JANET and GOLD. In the meantime
it will be necessary to revert to SNAIL-MAIL until this is
resolved.
