Hamuy, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory; and J. Maza, Astronomy Department, University of Chile, report: "R. Antezana has discovered a supernova 25" east and 2" south of the nucleus of an anonymous galaxy. The supernova (estimated mpg = 16.5) was found on a 15-min 103a-O plate taken by Hamuy and L. Wells with the Curtis Schmidt telescope on July 21.105 UT. The galaxy is at R.A. = 19h54m58s.0, Decl. = -56 23'38" (equinox 1950.0). Confirmation was made by T. Williams (Rutgers University), who obtained UBVRI CCD images with the CTIO 0.9-m telescope on July 26. A spectrum (range 630-950 nm) obtained on the same night by M. Phillips with the CTIO 4-m telescope shows strong Si II 635-nm absorption, consistent with a type-Ia supernova near maximum light. A redshift of 0.040 for the parent galaxy was measured from the same spectrum." PKS 2155-30, 3C 35, AND PG 1553+11 J. C. Noble, B. Mitch, M. T. Carini, and H. R. Miller, Georgia State University, write: "We have obtained CCD observations of the blazars PKS 2155-304, 3C 345, and PG 1553+11 at Lowell Observatory with the 1.05-m telescope + RCA CCD Camera. PKS 2155-30 was found to be in a bright state, with V = 12.74 +/- 0.04 on June 29 UT. PG 1553+11 was also found to be in a bright state, with V = 13.90 +/- 0.04 on Mar. and V = 13.83 +/- 0.04 on June 29. 3C 345 continues to be near a minimum in brightness, with V = 17.28 +/- 0.05 observed on June 29. Further observations of these sources are encouraged." PERIODIC COMET PETERS-HARTLEY (1990d) Total visual magnitude estimates (cf. IAUC 5026): June 15.51 UT, 13.2 (A.
