V632 CYGNI
Stefan Korth, Monheim, West Germany reports a rare outburst of this
eruptive star which is on the UK Patrol's Recurrent Objects List. He
observed it at mag 14.7v on 1990 Aug 23.938UT using the 0.36-m
reflector of the Benzeberg-Sternwarte Dusseldorf.
According to a report by W.Wenzel in IBVS 3405, the last reported
outburst in the professional literature was in 1940 June. However
Patrick Schmeer advises us that the Japanese recorded the star at
mag 14.5 on 1987 Aug 19.
The TA chart (revision 900327) shows the correct position as does the
chart in AAVSO Circular 232 but earlier versions did show the star
plotted in the wrong place. The position is: RA 21h33.9m DEC +40 12'
(1950).

COMET ENCKE
Brian Manning, Stakenbridge, England reports that he has successfully
photographed this comet on 1990 Aug 23.11684UT and 23.13349UT on
16 and 11 minute exposures with a 0.267-m portable reflector using
TP4415 film. The comet was of magnitude 14 with a 30 arcsecond coma
possibly surrounded by a diffuse outer region.
