BC UMA (Q1990/68)
Patrick Schmeer, West Germany, reports the detection of a rare
outburst of BC UMa (RA 11h49m39s DEC +49 31.4, 1950), a UG star
last seen on 1987 May 10 by a Japanese observer at magnitude 13.1.
On 1990 Sept 9.82UT he recorded it at magnitude approximately 12
using a 0.20-m S-C telescope.
In response to our alert, G.Poyner, Birmingham, confirmed the event
with an estimate on Sept 9.90UT at 11.3 (although the value is
uncertain due to cloud interference, identification was positive).
The observation was made with a 0.21-m reflector.
