Victor Gonzalez et al observed it on Oct 7 and reported that it now occupies around 60 degrees of longitude although still very bright. This suggests a very rapid evolution of the spot. KT PERSEI Stefan Korth relays a message from Jochen Pietz, Erftstadt, F.R.G. that this Z-Cam star is in standstill: Sept 9.90UT, 12.2; 10.02, 12.2; 11.91, 12.8; 13.96, 12.9; 14.93, 12.9; 16.90, 12.6; 19.88, 12.8; 21.98, 12.6; 24.85, 12.9; 28.88, 12.6. PERIODIC COMET MUELLER 2 (1990j) The following improved orbital elements, from 30 observations (some of the earlier ones having been corrected) Sept. 15-30, confirm that the comet is a short-period one. Comet 1987 XXXI = 1987a1 receives the name P/Mueller 1 and comet 1990l the name P/Mueller 3.
