SUPERNOVA 1991A IN IC 2973
C. Pennypacker, S. Perlmutter, S. Block, S. Carlson, N. Hamilton,
H. Marvin, R. Muller, and C. Smith communicate: "The Berkeley
Automated Supernova Search reports the discovery of a supernova of
mag 17 located 28" east and 10" south of the galaxy IC2973 (UGC 6872;
R.A. = 11h51m15s.5, Decl. = +33 38'35", equinox 1950.0) in three
separate images taken on Jan. 1 UT. Subsequent to discovery, the
supernova was found to be present on images taken 1990 Dec. 13, 17,
22, 24, and 31. On Dec. 13 its magnitude was about 18. There was no
supernova visible on an image taken Dec. 6 to a limit of mag 18."

EG ANDROMEDAE
This star is already on the BAAVSS Programme because of a PRO-AM
exchange but in addition Stefan Korth informs us that Dr.Manfred
Vogel of Switzerland will monitor the star with the IUE. Stefan asks
that we report any estimates in the period 1990 Dec 1 - 1991 Feb 28.
He asks for this purpose that we use the following comparisons:
HD 3914 RA 00h39m18s DEC +40 24'56"(1950) V=7.00
HD 4322 RA 00h43m18s DEC +40 32'13"(1950) V=7.55
HD 3989 RA 00h40m03s DEC +45 39'22"(1950) V=7.03
The variable is located at: RA 00h41m52.7s DEC +40 24'22.6"(1950).
Please submit results via the Editor who will relay estimates to
Stefan.
