Further to the note on E500, the original report of the outburst
was received from Timo Kinnunen of Finland who observed the UGSS
type variable at magnitude 11.5 on Mar 25.28UT. Patrick Schmeer,
Germany, has subsequently e-mailed confirmation that the star is
bright: Mar 28.17UT, 11.8. Professional astronomers have been
alerted. The previous observed outburst occurred in 1990 May (The
Astronomer Vol 27, p41, 1990).

NOVA HERCULIS 1991
Further visual estimates: 1991 Mar 28.06UT, 7.9 (D.Fischer,
Germany); 28.10, 7.8 (P.Schmeer, Germany).
Rob McNaught has kindly faxed a copy of a photograph taken at the
AAT on Mar 25 which has permitted identification of the nova
against the fainter stars in the field. Mike Collins, Sandy has
e-mailed a download of the Hubble Catalogue and from this and
other sources the following preliminary b chart has been derived:

Rob McNaught, Australia notes that the star marked 75 on the AAVSO
Atlas (1st Ed) 2.4' to the east of KO Aql, seems to have the wrong
magnitude (it is much brighter than charted) or '75' refers to
another star (say the one 10' due S).
Independently Gary Poyner, Birmingham also mentions this star
(selected as comparison G on E500). He estimates it to be 6.7 and
mentions it is SAOC 104170 catalogued 6.9v.
