AK CANCRI
Taichi Kato, Japan informs us that M.Koshiro, Suwa, Japan has
observed an outburst of AK Cancri, a star on the Recurrent Objects
Programme of the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol, and located at:
RA 08h 52.6m DEC +11 30' (1950).
On 1992 Jan 13 Koshiro observed it at magnitude 13.6 visual.
M.Iida, Japan confirmed the outburst on Jan 15 at mv=13.5.
This UG star, formerly designated 77.1933 Cnc was announced by
Morgenroth (AN 249, 383-386, [1933]) as being bright on 1928 Mar 17
and 1932 Feb 25.
This appears to be the first positive report to be received by our
patrol.
The existing (B) chart, based on the Morgenroth publication, is
totally inadequate and has today been replaced by a (C) chart based
on a GSC download and a sequence by Huruhata.
