THE ASTRONOMER ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 1992
This annual event has been fixed for Saturday September 5 and will
take place in Northampton. Further details will appear shortly but
in the meantime please note the date in your diaries! We hope this
advance notice will particularly enable overseas members of TA to
make plans to attend as they will be especially welcome.

SUPERNOVA 1992Z IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
M. Hamuy, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory; and J. Maza,
University of Chile, report the discovery by R. Antezana of a
supernova located about 3" east and 4" north of the nucleus of an
anonymous galaxy at R.A. = 13h26m09s.0, Decl. = -29 45'17", equinox
1950.0). The supernova, of mpg about 19, was found on a 20-min un-
filtered IIa-O plate taken by Hamuy with the CTIO Curtis Schmidt
telescope on May 29.233 UT. Confirmation was made by R. Schommer
(CTIO) from B and V images obtained in nonphotometric conditions on
June 1.146 with the CTIO 0.9-m telescope.

TAV 0136+60
Mike Collins, Everton, Beds informs us that this variable which he
discovered on 1989 July 5 and reported on E-Circular 318 is fading.
The star, located at RA 01h36m28s DEC +60 38'57"(1950), had reached
magnitude 8.1 on 1992 May 21.0UT (Kodak 2415 film). Mike comments
that he has not seen the star fainter than 7.7 since mid-November
1988. From late 1988 until 1992 February it has ranged between
7.3 and 7.6. The decline is evidently slow, at about 0.1 magnitudes
per month. Further reports would be welcomed.

NOVA SCORPII 1992
Taichi Kato, Japan reports observations of this object:
1992 May 25.58UT, 7.6 (M.Watanabe, Toyama)
     May 26.64UT, 7.3 (K.Mishima, Mt.Fuji)
     May 28.57UT, 7.6 (T.Kato, Kyoto)
     May 30.66UT, 7.9 (Mishima)
