GK PERSEI
Bill Worraker, Didcot, reports that he has observed GK Persei
bright as follows: 1992 July 7.031UT, 11.8 (0.26-m refl.).
Other estimates have since become available, partly from AAVSO:
1992 June 19.029, 13.1 (Gary Poyner, Birmingham); 29.043, 13.2
(Patrick Schmeer, Germany); July 3.31, 12.3 (John Bortle, USA);
4.38, 12.3 (M.Adams, USA); 5.38, 12.1 (Adams); 6.38, 11.8 (Adams).
Worraker also reported the last outburst event on IAUC 4819 in
1989 July.

SUPERNOVAE 1992ae AND 1992af
L. Wells, Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory; and J. Maza,
University of Chile, report the discoveries by R. Antezana
(University of Chile) of two apparent supernovae on unfiltered
20-min IIa-O exposures taken by L. Wells with the CTIO Curtis
Schmidt telescope. SN 1992ae, at mpg about 18 on June 27.30 UT,
is located 3" east and 5" north of the nucleus of an anonymous
galaxy (R.A. = 21h24m26s.8, Decl. = -61 46'12", equinox 1950.0).

SN 1992af, at mpg about 17.5 on June 29.28, is located 10" east
and 3" south of the nucleus of the spiral galaxy ESO 340-G38
(R.A. = 20h27m17s.0, Decl. = -42 28'39"). Confirmation of both SNe
1992ae and 1992af was made by K. Wakamatsu (Gifu University) and
M. Malkan (University of California, Los Angeles) from B and V CCD
images obtained on July 2.31-2.32 with the CTIO 0.9-m telescope,
and by C. Anguita (University of Chile) from B and V images
obtained on July 2.32-2.33 at the CTIO 1.5-m telescope.

SUPERNOVA 1992ag IN ESO 508-G67
J. Maza, University of Chile; and M. Hamuy, Cerro Tololo
Interamerican Observatory, report the discovery by M. Wischnjewsky
of a supernova located about 4" west of the nucleus of the spiral
galaxy ESO 508-G67 (IRAS 13214-2337; R.A. = 13h21m26s.0, Decl. =
-23 37'06", equinox 1950.0). The supernova, of mpg about 16.5, was
found on a 20-min unfiltered IIa-O plate taken by L. Wells with the
CTIO Curtis Schmidt telescope on June 29.127 UT. Confirmation was
made by K. Wakamatsu (Gifu University) and M. Malkan (University of
California, Los Angeles) from B and V images obtained on July 3.021
with the CTIO 0.9-m telescope.
