This shows that the object at the centre of the field in the original e-chart (cf E662) is the 'new' star (=GRO J0422+32) and is estimated at magnitude 12.6. The possible candidate suggested by Gary Poyner (cf E661) was at magnitude 14.3, close to its Guide Star Catalog value and is presumably a normal field star. A.J.Castro-Tirado, Denmark has examined the blue Palomar Sky Survey chart which shows only a clustering of grains at the position of the object. On the red survey this is a weak image of estimated magnitude 16.5 +/- 0.7. A revised e-chart, replacing that on E662, follows: \\\\\\GROJ0422+32 GRS 0417+335 S,120,10,S P,04h 21.7m +32 54' (1950) O,60,60,12,[20B -L,R,GRO,B -S,TA920825 R,9.53,31,25,A R,10.11,22,66,B R,10.78,63,42,C R,10.90,70,65,D,R R,11.63,106,92,E R,11.95,68,62,F,R R,12.69,77,46,G R,13.49,45,34,H R,13.89,54,64,J,R R,14.12,60,46,K R,14.46,78,56,L R,14.91,51,68,M,R M,9,20,87 M,10,111,118 M,11,88,17,22,59 M,12,101,20,119,111,19,49,11,89,114,4 M,12,85,69,30,84,39,94 M,13,92,106,10,63,100,2,37,55,9,48,78,18 M,13,21,48,39,111,61,117,14,69,41,29,21,59 M,13,77,11,103,113,46,70 M,14,53,13,22,22,71,32,68,106,112,58 M,14,57,53 M,14,67,78,68,18,46,5,38,72,29,70,106,60 M,14,10,20,15,23,19,49,12,60,92,31,13,85 M,14,23,51 M,15,2,55,39,7,54,97,95,19,39,34,31,115,74,119 M,15,55,9,14,8,14,39,115,108,79,87,8,3,74,95 M,15,56,76,118,28,25,112,109,4,35,39,87,73,100,80 M,15,22,20,93,117,105,107,48,64,103,2 M,16,117,96 E,86 ////// Basic chart automatically generated by GSC2FIND ver 1.1 Guy M Hurst
