PERIODIC SWIFT-TUTTLE (1992t)
Graeme Waddington, Oxford e-mails that further integration runs
have been on this comet based on orbital elements by Yeomans (MPC
21081) and with a small nongravitional A2 force included. Using
A2=-0.00025 (cf P/Halley has A2=0.0155) most apparitions back to
317AD are virtually unaffected. The 188 apparition's perihelion
time moves by a month with the result that the -69 April perihelion
time is moved to -68 August 30. The oriental records of the comet
of -68 are compatible with P/Swift-Tuttle and a perihelion time
of about August 25. It seems probable that the -68 and 188 comets
are therefore Comet Swift-Tuttle.

V795 CYGNI
Patrick Schmeer, Germany has reported an outburst of this UGSS star
on 1992 Nov 23.760UT at magnitude 12.8 visual. This was
subsequently confirmed as follows:
1992 Nov 23.847UT, 13.0: (W.Worraker, Didcot, UK); 25.374UT,
V=12.8 (Taichi Kato, Japan).

Patrick advises us that the previous recorded maximum was on
1991 Sept 3 at mv=13.3
The position is: RA 19h32m38s DEC +31 25.6'(1950)

V407 CYGNI
Taichi Kato, Japan e-mails that M.Yamada, Ishikawa, Japan has
observed V407 Cygni to be bright: 1992 Nov 22.449UT, 12.6. The
brightening was confirmed by Kato on Nov 23 at V=12.0.
Subsequently Patrick Schmeer, Germany reported it at magnitude
12.0 on Nov 26.853UT.

The star was discovered by C.Hoffmeister on Sonneberg plates
with a major outburst in 1936. He classified it as nova-like.
The GCVS mentions that there are also light variations of
Mira-type superimposed on the rare outburst events.
The position is:
RA 21h00m26s DEC +45 34.6' (1950)

IP PEGASI
Professional astronomers using Hubble have asked for immediate
advice at the next outburst of IP Pegasi. Please telephone
Gary Poyner immediately the star starts to rise. His telephone
number is: 021-350-4312. Please also e-mail this box in
confirmation. An outburst is likely during this month.
