BL LACERTAE
The National Astronomical Observatory in Tokyo has forwarded the
following report from M. Okyudo, Nishi-Harima Astronomical
Observatory: "BL Lac has been highly active since the latter half
of 1992, when its magnitude was V about 15. Recent CCD photometric
observations (Johnson system): 1993 Apr. 5.77 UT, V = 14.58 +/-
0.05; 14.77, 13.78 +/- 0.02. Comparison stars are 'B' and 'C' of
Smith et al. (1985, A.J. 90, 1184), which are in the same field as
BL Lac."

Does anyone have recent observations of this object please?-Editor.

PERIODIC COMET REINMUTH 2 (1993g)
J. V. Scotti, Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, reports his recovery
of this comet with the 0.9-m Spacewatch telescope at Kitt Peak:

     1993 UT R.A. (2000) Decl. m1
     Feb. 26.45957 15 07 59.67 -25 33 44.7 21.9
	  26.48942 15 08 00.14 -25 33 50.1 22.0
	  26.51786 15 08 00.26 -25 33 56.0 21.7
     Apr. 21.39013 14 52 12.02 -26 03 41.1
	  21.39985 14 52 11.63 -26 03 39.5 21.7
	  21.41247 14 52 10.94 -26 03 37.7 21.7
	  22.36974 14 51 26.83 -26 01 21.4 20.8
	  22.37880 14 51 26.49 -26 01 20.8 21.5
	  22.39174 14 51 25.73 -26 01 18.7 21.3
	  22.40375 14 51 25.24 -26 01 16.2 22.1

The images were right at the telescope limit in good seeing on Feb.
26. The comet was rather low on Apr. 21, and there was no
convincing diffuseness beyond the poor seeing, although the images
seemed softer than those of objects of similar brightness nearby.
The position is almost precisely in accordance with the prediction
on MPC 18258.

NOVA OPHUICHI 1993
Further estimates:
1993 Apr 17.52UT, 9.4 (D.Seargent, Australia); 18.70, 9.3

Japan); 18.8UT, 9.4 (P.Camilleri, Australia); 19.80, 9.4
(Camilleri); 20.08, 9.4 (B.Granslo, Norway); 20.09, 9.5 (H.Dahle,
Norway)..

K.Sekiguchi, South African Astronomical Observatory has e-mailed
details of provisional photometry by F. van Wyk with the 0.5-m
reflector at Sutherland:
1993 Apr 19.06UT V=9.71, B-V=+0.89; U-B=-0.30, V-Rc= +0.92, V-Ic=
+1.70.

PERIODIC COMET SCHWASSMANN-WACHMANN 1
Herman Mikuz, Slovenia e-mails that his observations with the 0.20-
m f/2 Baker-Schmidt camera + V filter + ST6 show this comet is
again in outburst:
1993 Apr 17.82UT, V=[15.5; 22.83, V=12.6
The diameter on Apr 22 was estimated as 1.3' with the comet
appearing as a dense star-like condensation without surrounding
coma.
