SUPERNOVA 1993J IN NGC 3031- SEQUENCE
D. Hanzl, N. Copernicus Planetarium, Brno, communicates that
GSC 4383.0384 appears to be variable, first noted visually on Apr.
16 by K. Hornoch at Lelekovice and J. Kysely at Vlasim, and
confirmed photoelectrically by Hanzl as having a maximum at
V = 10.98 +/- 0.05, amplitude about 0.35 mag, and period of
probably < 1 day.

Star D

The above suspected variable is star D on the sequence of 'The
Astronomer' (assigned magnitude 10.70) and is therefore dropped.
If anyone who has submitted estimates involving 'D' also made
additional estimates involving other comparisons please e-mail
these as soon as possible. This would not only enable us to
re-reduce the estimate but also may enable the value of 'D' to
be determined for that date and time.

Star 1

In addition to assist with reduction of early estimates we have
added GSC 4383.150 to our sequence as star 1 with a magnitude
value of 10.3. This was used extensively by many groups when the
supernova was near maximum. There are two stars of '103' on the
Thompson-Bryan chart. The eastern star is 'C' on the TA sequence
and the newly-introduced star '1' is on the western edge.
On the 'B' format electronic chart issued with E-Circular 722,
the coordinates are X=38, Y=57.

Latest sequence with other identifications. Please only use the
assigned TA values in your reductions.
