RLSAC
As previously kindly announced by Gary Poyner, there is a power
reduction problem at RLSAC which means the Editor cannot, for the
time being, read incoming messages there. The last message seen was
received May 13 at 20:41.

Until further notice please send mail to my Cambridge box as
detailed in the heading of this circular. I can read incoming
messages at that site although there may be a delay in replying.

As a precaution during this period, in addition to sending to
Cambridge please also copy any DISCOVERY messages to Gary Poyner on
BHVAD::GP (Starlink and SPAN) or gp at uk.ac.bham.sr.star on Janet.

SUPERNOVA 1993M IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY
J. Maza, University of Chile; and M. Hamuy, Cerro Tololo
Interamerican Observatory, report the discovery of an apparent
supernova of mpg about 18.5 by R. Antezana (University of Chile) on
a 20-min unfiltered IIa-O plate taken by G. Valladares with the
CTIO Curtis Schmidt telescope on Apr. 28.33 UT. The new object is
located 1" west and 3" south of the nucleus of a galaxy at R.A. =
19h08m16s, Decl. = -64 22'29" (equinox 1950.0). Confirmation of SN
1993M was made by R. Aviles on CCD B, V, and I images obtained on
May 2.279 with the CTIO 0.9-m telescope.

SUPERNOVA 1993N IN UGC 5695
J. Mueller reports her discovery of an apparent supernova located
6".7 west and 9".4 north of the nucleus of UGC 5695
(R.A. = 10h27m.1, Decl. = +13 16', equinox 1950.0). The new object
was found at mag about 17.5 on a blue plate taken Apr. 15 by
C. Brewer and Mueller with the 1.2-m Oschin Schmidt Telescope in
the course of the second Palomar Sky Survey.
E. Cappellaro and M. Della Valle, European Southern Observatory,
communicate: "CCD frames obtained on May 6.1 UT at the 1.5-m
Danish telescope at La Silla confirm the presence of the new object
6".8 west and 9".8 north of the nucleus of UGC 5695. Preliminary
photometry gives: V = 18.6, B-V = +0.5, V-R = +0.7."

SUPERNOVA 1993J IN NGC 3031
There is a suggestion from very recent data that the light curve of
this supernova is entering yet another interesting phase. We do
not wish to publish data at this stage in our continuing effort to
avoid bias but could we appeal for intensive coverage on every
clear night please.

For the results so far logged, (discovery until May 8) not a single
night has passed without at least one observation which represents
a very fine achievement by our worldwide team of observers.

FINDERS
The announcement on E739 should have made it clear that FINDVGA.EXE
works on VGA as well as Super VGA Monitors.
