COMET MUELLER (1993p)
Jean Mueller reports her discovery of a comet on a plate taken by
J. D. Mendenhall and herself with the 1.2-m Oschin Schmidt
Telescope in the course of the second Palomar Sky Survey.
The object has a condensed nuclear region and a tail fanned to the
west-north-west. A confirming film was taken by
E. and C. Shoemaker and D.Levy with the 0.46-m Palomar Schmidt
telescope on Aug. 17. The following measurements are by Mueller:

Herman Mikuz, Slovenia e-mails that he recorded this new comet on
1993 Aug 19.98UT at V=14.4 using 0.20-m f/2 Baker-Schmidt camera +
V filter + ST6 CCD. The coma diameter was 0.4' and a fan-shaped
tail was noted, 1.5' long in PA 325 degrees.
