Further to the announcement on E779, although the star is absent
from many previous patrol photos, it was recorded on photos by Mike
Collins (135mm lens + K2415) as follows:
1989 Aug 3.9UT, 12.2; Sep 21.9, 12.2
1990 Jul 15.0 12.0
1991 Jul 7.0 12.3; 16.0, 12.0; Aug 8.9, 11.8
1992 Jul 6.9 12.4
1993 Jun 21.0 12.3; Jul 18.0, 11.5; 26.0, 11.1
He adds that the Point Source Catalog provides a possible
candidate= IRAS 18361+1108 which is located at:
RA 18h 36m 08.6s DEC +11 08' 52" [1950].
Mike notes it is also absent from TVMPSA to a limit of mpv=12.5.
In response to an initial alert, Nick James, Chelmsford, UK has
successfully photographed the object which is evidently fading:
1993 Sept 17.82UT, 12.0 (0.30-m refl + K2415, estimate by Editor)
The Editor reports tentative sightings on photos by Jack Grills
in the Patrol Archive: 1982 Aug 18.94UT, 11.6; Sept 8.92, 11.4.
(135mm + Tri-X).
There is a possibility that minimum occurs near solar conjunction
and that the period may be 360-370d so analysis is difficult.
Observations are URGENTLY needed during the present decline.
