Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur, reports his discovery of a supernova of mag V = 17.5-18 located at R.A. = 23h00m46s.40, Decl. = -6 37'06".5 (equinox 1950.0). SN 1993aa, found on 0.9-m Schmidt telescope films taken Sept. 19.13 and 20.02UT, is superimposed on the galaxy nucleus, the galaxy itself being of mpg about 18 and rather blue on the Palomar Sky Survey. No such object appears at the position of the supernova on either the Palomar Sky Survey or an R film taken on 1991 Sept. 20. IAUC 5871 SUPERNOVA 1993ab IN NGC 1164 J. Mueller reports the discovery of a supernova (blue mag about 18) located 17".5 east and 12" south of the nucleus of NGC1164 (R.A. = 2h58m.7, Decl. = +42 24', equinox 1950.0). The supernova was found on a plate taken on Sept. 24 UT by J. D. Mendenhall and Mueller with the 1.2-m Oschin Schmidt Telescope in the course of the second Palomar Sky Survey. IAUC 5871 TAV 1836+11 In response to the discovery announcement on E779 and E780, the following visual estimates have so far been reported which indicate a considerable fade has occurred since first detection in July: 1993 Oct 4.808UT, 14.2 (Gary Poyner, Birmingham, UK) 1993 Oct 5.806UT, 14.1 (John Day, Leicester, UK) OJ 287 Following further liaison with professional astronomers, a unified sequence has been agreed for the project announced on E762. The (c) format chart below replaces that on E763. \\\\\\OJ 287 c SV 085220 14.14V Var?
