The variable could not be seen on the TV monitor to a limit of V=17. ALPHA ORIONIS Observations are being received in response to the announcement on E710 and IAUC 5708. However Veikko Makela, Finland has e-mailed to advise observers to be cautious concerning the use of Aldebaran as a comparison as it is itself a variable (0.75-0.95). He mentions that he is using Procyon (0.4) and Pollux (1.2). On Feb 20 he estimated Alpha Orionis at 0.7.
