Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur (OCA), reports his discovery on technical pan films obtained with the OCA 0.9-m Schmidt telescope of an apparent supernova located at R.A. = 22h59m09s.73, Decl. = -4o30'57".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 8".1 east and 1".7 south of the galaxy's centre. Pollas provides the following V magnitude estimates for SN 1995aa: Sept. 2.02 UT, 19.8; 16.93, 20.2; 17.96, 20.2. IAUC 6236 COMET P/1995 S1 = P/1846 D1 (DE VICO) The following orbital elements by Dan Green, Central Bureau are from 61 observations, 1846 Mar. 4-1995 Sept. 22 (mean residual 2".2; cf.IAUC 6232) and update those on E-Circular 999: Epoch = 1995 Oct. 10.0 TT T = 1995 Oct. 6.0235 TT Peri. = 12.9708 e = 0.962734 Node = 79.6210 2000.0 q = 0.658959 AU Incl. = 85.3981 a = 17.682741 AU n = 0.0132550 P = 74.357 years The elements for epoch 1846 Mar. 5.0 TT are T =1846 Mar. 6.044 TT, e = 0.96302, q = 0.66384 AU, Peri. = 12o.907, Node = 79o.703, i = 85o.118; these also suggest T = 1922 Apr. 8.4 TT.
