Although the eclipse was of shorter duration than that seen from Chile, the excitement and spectacular nature of the event was still immense and this TA video is certain to be in great demand! The approximate duration is 1 hour. Orders can now be accepted for the video (reference V14) which costs 10 pounds post paid in the UK. For the remainder of Europe and Rest of World the price is 13 pounds to cover the additional postage costs. Remittances should be made payable to 'The Astronomer' and sent to the Editor at the address at the top of this circular. If anyone is interested in viewing comparisons between eclipses, the 1994 Eclipse video (reference V13) is still available at the same prices as above. A complete list of all available TA videos can be e-mailed upon request. SUPERNOVA 1995ak IN IC 1844 C. Pollas, Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur (OCA), reports his discovery, on a Tech Pan film taken with the OCA Schmidt telescope on Oct. 27.06 UT, of a supernova (V about 16.4) at R.A. = 2h45m48s.83, Decl. = +3o13'50".1 (equinox 2000.0, which is 8".5 west and 1".0 north of the centre of IC 1844 (and situated to the south of a large, diffuse and complex blue area of the host galaxy). A nearby star (V about 16.0) has position end figures 53s.34, 14'36".2. SN 1995ak does not appear on the original Palomar Sky Survey prints, and no star is seen at this position on an OCA film obtained in 1992. IAUC 6254 NGC 3786 We have received an appeal from professional astronomers for any imaging or other observations of NGC 3786 which is located at: RA 11h39.7m DEC +31 55' (2000). Uranometria has the mag as 12.9. Unusual outburst activity was observed from 1994 December and if anyone has data on this object from that time to date please send details or images to the editor.
