It is believed that the supernova is the first ever to be found by an astronomer from the UK. An e-chart and preliminary sequence follow. It is believed that the object has not yet reached maximum and therefore estimates at this crucial stage are vital. If it is necessary to use fainter stars than on the available sequence please quote their approximate offsets in e-mails to the Editor so we can reduce the results at a later date. \\\\\\SN 1996bo b in NGC 673 S,400,6,S -C, 1.8061, 11.5214,2000 O,197,200,15.5,? -L,R,SN P,01h 48.4m +11 31' (2000) -T,Seq GSC (approximate) -G,200,200,150,100,190 -L,L,N673 -S,SN/032.01 R,10.6,230,187,A,R R,12.1,294,200,B,R R,12.7,139,197,C,R R,13.0,210,230,D,R R,13.6,172,160,E,R R,14.6,160,176,F,R M,9,183,346 -L,L,89 M,11,340,358,237,383,99,116 M,12,10,14,89,283,371,255,93,300,287,227,399,213,321,185 M,12,69,26,309,45,25,72,217,55,45,376 M,13,131,181,386,77,384,249,257,74,254,117,248,73 M,13,372,260,338,196,341,171,95,242,25,266,198,287 M,13,360,193,209,317,121,196,128,2,173,240,258,363,151,332 M,13,393,306,361,214,61,381 M,14,367,332,111,135,386,90,57,170,358,83,228,127 M,14,140,313,376,177,135,130,394,120,69,57,331,360,99,77 M,14,281,336,286,239,318,361,204,328,364,198,347,268 M,14,17,162,313,181,263,321,154,106,245,257,261,279,272,285 M,14,308,6,150,265,258,52,52,357,356,170,124,11,399,380 M,15,31,52,320,181,49,242,336,64,294,222,29,216,118,90 M,15,3,232,183,286,161,39,57,331,129,295,102,245 M,15,24,189,117,362,355,155,382,40,305,175,4,9,390,375 M,15,329,118,214,389,383,221,259,52 E,102 ////// Basic chart automatically generated by CHART ver 1.6 Guy M Hurst
