EG CANCRI Further to the announcement on E1147 of an outburst of this dwarf nova, the star subsequently faded below magnitude 15 but is now bright again as indicated by the observations below: 1996 Dec 17.91UT, [15.6v (Timo Kinnunen, Finland) Dec 18.95 , [15.6v (Kinnunen) 20.672 , 16.13V(Taichi Kato, Ouda, Japan 0.60-m refl + CCD + V filter) 20.90 , 15.4v (Kinnunen) 21.55 , 13: (Ouda Team, provisional result) This double peak is similar to events seen in AL Com and UZ Boo. Taichi Kato also reports that a 4 hour run on Dec 20 revealed the existence of prominent superhumps with an amplitude of 0.12 mags. There is a suggestion that the re-brightening is again a superoutburst. Guy M Hurst
