The star was located at RA 16h49m00s DEC +08 23'52"(1950) and was recorded at magnitude 11.3 on UK Nova/Supernova Patrol photographs of 1992 May 6.0UT. Subsequently Mike Collins found that NSV 8001 was the candidate with cross identifications CSV 002830, Ross 208 and Prager 1128 where the catalogued range was 13-[16p. Ross found the object originally on 1926 June 17 at approximately magnitude 12. Mike has again found the star bright on 1997 May 2 at 10.9 and also reports an early brightening to magnitude 10.7 on 1994 July 10. The position is: RA 16h51m25s DEC +08 18'51"(2000) He also provides an e-chart and sequence now adopted by TA: \\\\\\NSV 8001 b found by Frank Ross in 1926 S,400,6,S -C,16.8569, 8.3142,2000 O,200,200,10.7,(14? -T,type unknown -S,TA970527 P,16h 51.4m +08 19' (2000) M,8,30,287 R,9.0,151,172,A,A R,10.1,376,219,B R,10.6,255,220,C,R R,10.9,201,310,D R,11.1,188,261,E R,11.3,106,136,F R,11.7,139,94,G,R M,11,134,393,20,309,129,151,315,79,232,55 M,11,299,351,238,214 R,12.2,194,88,H R,12.8,214,199,I,R M,12,108,76,8,51,73,226,36,84,11,376,78,281,139,252 M,12,145,152,47,388,7,324,81,358,332,16,231,22 M,12,252,82,266,21,376,134,277,172,318,80,357,324 M,12,342,102,274,359 M,13,133,398,143,8,45,311,8,79,180,204,247,127,171,139 M,13,209,306,220,300,372,2,340,232,303,322,182,364 E,52 ////// Basic chart automatically generated by CHART ver 1.6 Further observations would be welcomed.
