PV PERSEI
Lasse Jensen, CBA Denmark, has reported his detection of an
outburst of this SU UMa-type variable on CVC 147 issued by
Tonny Vanmunster in Belgium.

We have also received a personal e-mail from Gary Poyner in
Birmingham, UK indicating he has confirmed the event visually.

Available observations:

1997 Aug 26.028UT, 15.5 (Lasse Jensen, 0.25-m reflector + CCD NF)
         28.052UT, 15.6 (Gary Poyner 0.40-m reflector, GSC Seq)

STANLEY MILBOURN
We have today learnt from Eileen Milbourn of the sad death of
Stan Milbourn of Dursley, Gloucestershire. San passed away
on 1997 August 24 at aged 71 years after a lengthy illness.
The Editor is indebted to Stan for helping us for so many
years in relaying news from and to the Central Bureau before
TA could afford to subscribe to its services in its own
right. He was always so extremely helpful and a real gentleman.

We extend our sympathy to Eileen on this sad loss.
