Gary Poyner e-mails confirmation from visual observations from Birmingham, England. Tonny Vanmunster has also confirmed the outburst with the use of CCD equipment in Belgium and has reported details on CVC 154: 1997 Sep 23.029 UT, [14.7 (G. Poyner, 0.40-m refl., visual); Sep 23.87 UT, 15.3 (T. Kinnunen, 0.44-m refl., visual); Sep 23.917 UT, 15.4:: (Poyner ); Sep 23.932 UT, 15.8 (T. Vanmunster, 0.25-m SCT, CCD NF); Sep 24.036 UT, 15.2 (Poyner); Denis Buczynski, Conder Brow Observatory, England also reports that he imaged this field with the new 0.33-m f/3 automated reflector and unfiltered CCD on Sept 24.03464UT and confirms the presence of an image of about magnitude 15.5 in the position identified by SIMBAD and displayed by the ESO DSS facility. He adds that the position shown in Guide 6 plots the star in a slightly different position. Tonny Vanmunster adds in CVC 154: KW And was last reported in outburst on March 10, 1996 by Tonny Vanmunster [CVC 85] at mag. 15.0. The object did not became brighter than mag 14.8 during this short outburst [CVC 87]. KW And was discovered by Kurochkin and originally designated SVS 2206. Two of the outbursts that he detected on photographic plates lasted for more than 8 days. Guy M Hurst
