V493 LYRAE (=Q1998/012)
Bill Worraker, Didcot, England, reports that he has detected an
outburst of the UG star V493 Lyrae which is on the Recurrent
Objects list of the UK Nova/Supernova Patrol. On 1998 Feb 7.261UT
he estimated its visual magnitude as 13.7 using a 0.26-m reflector
and the TA sequence.

Confirmation has been received from Tonny Vanmunster, CBA Belgium
Observatory who obtained an unfiltered CCD image on Feb 9.087UT
recording the star at magnitude 14.1 with a 0.25-m SCT and
ST-7 CCD.
