Li, M. Modjaz, R. R. Treffers, and A. V. Filippenko, University of California at Berkeley, report their discovery of a supernova during the course of the Lick Observatory Supernova Search with the 0.8-m Katzman Automatic Imaging Telescope. SN 1998Y was found and confirmed on unfiltered CCD images obtained on Mar. 16.2 (mag about 18.3) and 18.2 UT (mag about 18.4), and it is located at R.A. = 7h36m56s.93, Decl. = +35o14'36".0 (2000), which is about 7" east and 6" north of the nucleus of NGC 2415. IAUC 6850 (extract) SUPERNOVA 1998Z IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY L. Germany and the Mount Stromlo Abell Cluster Supernova Search Team reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (V = 19.6) on V and R CCD images taken on Mar. 16 (limiting mag V = 20.5) by S. Sabine at the Mount Stromlo 1.27-m telescope (+ Macho Camera). SN 1998Z is located near Abell 3341 at: R.A. = 5h24m58s.78, Decl. = -31o21'38".1 (2000), which is 1".5 west and 2".3 south of the centre of the host galaxy. IAUC 6850 (extract) SUPERNOVA 1998aa IN ANONYMOUS GALAXY J. Maza, Department of Astronomy, University of Chile, reports the discovery by Roberto Antezana of a supernova (B about 18) on a film (T-Max 400) taken by L. E. Gonzalez using the Maksutov telescope at Cerro El Roble on Feb. 26.201 UT. SN 1998aa is located at R.A. = 12h25m32s.65, Decl. = +7o38'59".0 (2000.0), which is 10".4 west and 0".8 south of the nucleus of a spiral galaxy. IAUC 6850 (extract) SUPERNOVA 1998ab IN NGC 4704 J.-y. Wei, on behalf of the Beijing Astronomical Observatory supernova survey (via W.-d. Li, Berkeley), reports the discovery of an apparent supernova (mag 16.1) on Apr. 1.67 UT. SN 1998ab is located at R.A. = 12h48m47s.24, Decl. = +41o55'28".3 (2000.0), which is 2" east and 12" north of the centre of NGC 4704. SN 1998ab is not visible on a CCD image taken on Mar. 14. IAUC 6858 (extract) SUPERNOVAE P. Garnavich, Center for Astrophysics, reports that the High-Z Supernova Search Team has discovered 11 supernovae on CCD images taken with the Cerro Tololo 4-m telescope by N. Suntzeff,et.al.
